Hello players! Welcome to the first competitive Sealed Lorcana event, hosted by the Dutch Open Series collaborating with Ravensburger.
Below you will find a guide to registering and building your sealed deck. These instructions will be repeated on site, during the player meeting. But as the venue can be quite loud and noisy, we believe its important to share this document with you in advance.
Judges
Before we get into details in regards to the sealed deck registration and building, I’d like to point out that we’ll have a team of four on staff to help you with any questions you might have. If there’s anything, simply raise your hand and call “Judge!”. Please note that we’re here to help you, it’s never a bad thing to call a judge.
Player Meeting
At the start of the event you will receive your table number via MtgMelee. Please make your way to your seat for the Player Meeting. During the player meeting, product will be distributed, please keep your packs sealed until instructed otherwise.
Opening the packs!
When the call is made, all players on one side of the table may open their packs one by one. The person sitting across the table will watch as that’s being done. After everyone on this side of the table is done, players at the opposite side of the table will do the same. At this point, you will give the product that you opened (remember, this is your property, you will get this product back!) to the person sitting in front of you. This person will register the cards to the registration form. We advise that you sort the cards by color and number while doing so. After you’re done sorting the cards, you’ll list them all on the registration form, please remember to also note your name (as registering player) and table number. If time allows, please doublecheck that the registration form is correct. When you’re done, wait for one of the judges to announce that we’re proceeding with the next step. This step should take a total of 20 minutes.
Pool verification
Once the judge has made the call, please pass the product it’s owner. Once all product is back in its owners hand, you will verify the registered content of your sealed pool with what’s written down on the registration form. This step should take a total of 5 minutes.
Deckbuilding
After the product has been verified, the deckbuilding begins, you will have 30 minutes to build your deck. Start by writing your own name on the registration sheet. Please make sure that all card that go into your deck get marked on the registration sheet at played. Remember, in Lorcana sealed you’re allowed to play all colors, it’s also allowed to play more than 4 copies of a card if you’re lucky enough to get them! Once you’re done building your deck and registering it, please call for a judge to collect your decklists. At this point you’re free to walk around and relax until the first round starts.
